Australian Ocean Data Network
eMII is developing the infrastructure of the AODN and related infrastructure, following international standards and agreements. eMII utilises the NCRIS capability Platforms for Collaboration to provide the IMOS distributed data repositories at iVEC, eRSA, Intersect, QCIF and TPAC. These, and the repositories at the Commonwealth agencies of the Australian Ocean Data Centre Joint Facility (AODC JF - www.aodc.org.au) - CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research, Geosciences Australia, Royal Australian Navy, Bureau of Meteorology, Australian Government Antarctic Division, and the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) - are likely to constitute the heart of the AODN. The AODN also includes the BlueNet project (www.bluenet.org.au, ended March 2009), which was set up to provide long-term archiving and discovery tools for marine data produced within the Australian higher education sector.
eMII Metadata Catalogue
All IMOS data will be described in a searchable data catalogue, the IMOS MEST. This catalogue utilises the GeoNetwork MEST: the Metadata Entry and Search Tool.
